Read the full guidelinesSet among black pines just below the pass, this camp is the answer to an Albanian August. Night temperatures sit fifteen degrees below the coast, and the sea is a thirty-minute descent away when you want it.
Pitches are terraced into the slope on pine needles and packed earth. Larger motorhomes should take the two lower terraces, which are wider and level; the upper ones suit tents and vans. There are eight electrical hookups, hot showers on solar plus backup boiler, and a restaurant across the road that does an excellent lamb.
The paragliding launch and the Caesar's Pass viewpoint are both walkable. Note that the pass is genuinely alpine — expect cloud, wind and 10 °C nights even in July.

On the SH8 Llogara pass road. The climb from Orikum is 1,000 m in 11 km with tight hairpins — use low gear and let the brakes cool at the top. Caravans over 6 m are hard work in both directions.
Access difficulty: Moderate — care needed

The climb is no joke in a 3.5t van but the site is excellent. Lower terraces are the ones you want. Restaurant across the road is better than the camp bar.

A working smallholding on the hillside below the old town — walnut shade, home-pressed oil for sale, and the castle lit up above you all night.
